Brinda is not just a story of a woman it’s a narrative built around any or every woman who brims over with love, nurtures and operates from self-sacrifice and then also touches the edges of vulnerability in her monotonous routine. When others around her are too caught up in their lives and feel distant and oblivious, she finds her sense of belonging and happiness in playing the provider of their day-to-day and sometimes minute-to-minute needs. And in the process, she completely ignores herself. In fact she etches her happiness and joy only around others.

But then, how this perfect and prosperous-looking life hides its voids and agonised corners under enormous lamp shades! The emptiness through the monotony of the morning prayers, greys in her colourful canvas which forever haunts her.

Can an outer validation provide her the happiness she seeks? Or is she actually looking for the love, strength, beauty and power that lies within? What does she embrace in the end? Who is she or who she can be if she loves the woman in the mirror unconditionally?

What happens when she puts a kumkum on her forehead and in the process, comes face to face with her inner self and her higher self? She becomes sharply aware that the separation she was feeling was from her own self. And finally, we get a glimpse of the Divine Feminine within her. And within every woman.

OUTSIDE THE SAFEHOUSE

Director: Ms. Nisha Luthra, Assistant Director Rajan. K Batheja, DOP S.S. Sidhu, Assistant DOP Anuj Birwan, Music: Avirabhav 7 team. Actors: Varun Khanna, Divya Sharma, Shivam Dhull, Navdeep Multani, Editor: Krishna Rodge

Outside The Safe House is a short film based on a poem written by Nikasha Luthra from her book Dark Tulips. This film is based on the choices, the voids, and the struggles that the LGBTQ community has to go through daily and how our protagonist, Jai wants to learn Bharatnatyam which is a form of dance originated in the South of India and prevalent all over the world but how his father cannot accept the fact that his son was getting the exhilaration from the rhythm of the ghungharoos which his elder sister presented him. At the same time, he was pushed out of the house. That day he makes a choice and embraces his inner calling of learning the dance form from an Acharya who quietly uploads his performance video on social media and as destiny would have it, he became an overnight sensation on social media and when he was enjoying the laurels and applauds, he meets a man who saw his worth and Jai finally found love in his life. As love would have its own possessions, his partner could not support the artist in him. He once again had to choose between his love and Bharatnatyam.
This film addresses the choices that the LGBTQ community has to make between a dress or a coat or to be affected by the social codes that still stifle them to the core of their being.
Stepping outside the safehouse should not be the choice that society should ask them to make

THE SEHGAL HOUSE

Director Nisha luthra Assistant Director Rajan K Batheja, DOP S S Sidhu Assistant DOP Anuj Birnam Music Gagneet Singh, Hitesh

Actor: Divya Sharma Mugdha Arora, Anuraag Verma, Divjot kaur, Shivani Gulati.

The Sehgal House is a story that revolves around human emotions interwoven with even basic human relationships. The film talks about the deep layers of the bond a family shares, irrespective of different opinions, thoughts and interests. The film walks through various emotional passages along with the characters of the family. With each recital, many layers of the family bond is at disposal for the audience to absorb and leave a trail of emotions and hope for the next chapter.
Interestingly, each member of the Sehgal House is very literary and poetic. They prefer conveying their thoughts and feelings more in verses rather than in a straightforward way, which tends to make the viewers feel the film on a deeper level.
The film portrays one day of Sehgal House – the day of Mehendi of the youngest daughter of the house, Bani Sehgal. Being the youngest of all three siblings, yet getting married first shows how her sister Bela Sehgal, a famous advocate and brother, Bheem Sehgal, an activist and theatre artist have different opinions about marriage, having their own stories of unrequited love and at the same time how they are united at the occasion and soulfully supporting one another.
The story is being narrated by a diary, Diary Sehgal, in which Diya Sehgal, mother of Bani, Bela and Bheem, pens down every account of events on a routine basis. This film addresses the choices that the LGBTQ community has to make between a dress or a coat or to be affected by the social codes that still stifle them to the core of their being.
Stepping outside the safehouse should not be the choice that society should ask them to make

A Film written as a dedication to all those children who are compassionate, consider their nation as one big family, and have no apprehensions to share the love and abundance they experience in their lives. When their heroes are not from the comic books or the films but they are from our historic figures like Shaheed Bhagat Singh.

The circumference of this film revolves around the protagonist, who is a teenage boy who thinks, expresses, and responds like his HERO. What is the fate of sensitivity in our fast-paced and animated society, how are these alien feelings addressed and how does one find direction when met with a layered, complicated, contradictory world?
